How it tastes: Marguerite is a true expression of Muscat, offering Southeast Asian spice and flower notes like jasmine, kefir lime, lemongrass, and orange blossoms aromas.
How it's made: Grapes picked by hand early in the morning. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in oak barrel, demi-muids and foudres then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and foudres.
About the maker: Tom Lubbe, originally from New Zealand, started Matassa in 2003 after working in South Africa and Domaine Gauby in Roussillon. Matassa's vineyards, aging between 60 and 120 years, are co-planted with various grape varieties on schist and marl soils and are cultivated naturally without chemical.
